Entrepreneurs have received the opportunity for training and business intervention, as part of a capacity building programme for SMME’s targeted at the local communities of Philipstown, Britstown, Hanover and De Aar.
Beneficiaries are participating in a 12-month programme, which consists of : Guiding engagements/sessions with entrepreneurs which covers a wide range of topics from strategy to personal development; A training plan to ensure beneficiaries possess both technical and business skills to sustain operations; Participants are being upskilled in the interpretation of legal contracts and comprehending roles and responsibilities as expected by clients within the period of contract execution; and finally, training in business finance and project finance and the nuances between the two concepts.
“The intention of this programme is very clear – we are training and mentoring of people in the rural, supplier development entrepreneurial space to equip themselves with business management skills and access to market,” clarified Abner Wagenaar, Economic Development Manager for Lilitha Solar.
The programme aims to help 15 beneficiaries with ongoing development of their confidence, competency, business skills and capacity.
